Coast Guard District Headquarters assists the Commander in the administration of the Coast Guard District. The Headquarters administers that decisions are being followed in the planning, ordering and monitoring, and also provides assistance to the units in carrying out their duties.

The Headquarters consists of the Deputy Commander, Human Resources, Operational Office, and Techical Office. In addition, the Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre (MRCC Turku) that reports to the Operational Office and service base in Latokari, Turku that reports to the Technical Office, are also a part of the Headquarters.

Human Resources is responsible for staff administration, wages, headquarter service, internal communications and the reservists

Operational Office

Operational Office is responsible for planning, managing and co-ordinating operative functions in the Coast Guard District. Maritime rescue co-ordination centre (MRCC Turku) and maritime rescue sub-centre (MRSC Vaasa) report to Operational Office.

Technical Office is responsible for material, property and data administration in the West Finland Coast Guard District.
