The Coast Guard is a border guard authority operating under the Ministry of the Interior. The main objective of the Coast Guard is to perform internal safety services at sea.

By performing border surveillance, border checks and several other surveillance duties we are well aware of what is happening on our territorial waters. As we are responsible for search and rescue operations at sea and surveillance of the boat traffic we ensure the safety of those proceeding at sea and also those living in the archipelago.
